WISP: Watchful Integrated System Patcher
WISP is a compliance-oriented, three-phase update workflow for Linux servers. It separates change discovery from execution: scan to see what would change, plan to stage the exact packages under a change ticket, and execute strictly from those staged files (no repo fallback). Both Debian/Ubuntu and RHEL families are supported with tailored hooks/wrappers, structured logs, and a lightweight rogue-update monitor service for auditability.
How it works (both versions)
Scan – Dry-run to enumerate pending updates and dependencies.
Plan – Stage the exact packages (.deb or .rpm) into a ticketed directory under /opt/wisp/plan/.
Execute – Install only what was staged for that ticket, ensuring deterministic, auditable changes.
